Draft Program
This Summer School is organized within a Marie Curie Training Network called ModObs www.windeng.net. It is intended for PhD students within the network but it is open to graduated, PhD student and Post docs interested in the air-sea interaction subject. The host Organisation is the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, (ISAC) of the Italian National Council of Research (CNR).
We address current progress in the understanding of processes at the air-sea interface and in the atmospheric boundary layer in open sea and coastal area environments. We will focus on the connection between advances in our fundamental understanding of surface processes and the application of this knowledge to the largest scales that is a vital and important step forward. Consequently, we discuss the importance of satellite remote sensing and numerical modeling as bridges between the small-scale process studies and large-scale circulation of the ocean-atmosphere system.
The venue is Hotel Orsa Maggiore, Castro Marina, Italy (Apulia Region)
Date of the venue 11 -15 June 2007
